Based on all the rave reviews, I thought I would try these since I've been wearing & racing in nothing but Salomon for the last few years (Sense Pro, Sense Pro Max, Speedcross 4 and Sense Ride). I received them and tried them on and they felt cushy and fairly good. I first ran just 3 miles in them and they were "ok" not nearly as good as my Salomon Sense Pro Max but "ok". I then thought well I'll try them for a longer run and tried them for a 7 mile run...never again! My forefoot, calves and knees hurt very badly by mile 4. The only thing I can think of that would make this (my Salomon's do not) is that the drop in the shoes I normally wear for road running (Sense Pro Max) is 6mm and the drop in the Ghost is 12mm. I am a forefoot striker and having been running competitively & racing since the age of 10 (I'm now 50 and still racing & winning) so I am very in tune with my body. Anyways, they may be "great" for others but they do NOT work for me at all. I am going to try the Caldera model which has a 4mm drop to see if they are any better but otherwise going to stick with my Salomon.
