I had this pair of shoes before, purchased from a local shoe store, and was happy enough with them that when it was time to replace them, I decided to try buying the same pair online and save a little money. I don't know if I got a factory reject pair, if this is some off-brand posing as ASICS, or what, but the pair I got definitely feel much cheaper than before. They squeak so loudly it's embarrassing to walk around, and in the toe of the shoe it feels/sounds as if the glue between layers of material is dried out and the whole thing will fall apart any minute. 2 stars instead of 1 since I can still use them to mow the lawn, I guess.

My wife bought me the same shoes for Christmas, but from a local mall, and those shoes are definitely higher quality than these, much closer to what I had originally. Something is off with the pair I bought off Amazon.

I have high arches and wide feet, Asics are the best athletic shoes I've found for my type of feet. I highly recommend them for anyone with the same foot type.

The ones made a few years ago seem to be better made and better fitting. I have noticed that the recent batch of New Balance cross trainers and walking shows are not as well made and materials are of a lesser quality than in the past.
